“A photo booth that encourages people to take photos of themselves with others. By waving multiple [RFID] tags over a touchpoint inside the booth, a photo is taken, a connection is made and pictures are added to the Picnic website.”

Manifest Hope

18 August, 2008 Pete

I just sent off my piece for the Manifest Hope Gallery in Denver. The show runs from Aug 24th-28th.

“Art plays a pivotal role in creating cultural momentum. The Manifest Hope Gallery celebrates that role and shines a spotlight on artists across the nation who use their voices to amplify and motivate the grass roots movement surrounding the Obama Campaign. The Manifest Hope Gallery highlights the central themes of the progressive grass-roots movement- Hope Change, Progress, Unity and Patriotism.”

In related news, we also got new Obama shirts up for sale today. Make sure you check out the Obama T-shirt Design competition that just got under way on the Obama site.

Primal Source – Haque Design + Research

4 August, 2008 Pete

post_185-450x183.jpg

Specially commissioned by the City of Santa Monica, California, for Glow 08, Primal Source was an all-night performance/installation brought to life through the active participation of festival-goers (estimated at approx. 200,000 over the course of the night). Located on the beach near the Pier in an area that had been specifically landscaped over the course of several days, and making use of a large-scale outdoor waterscreen/mist projection system, the mirage-like installation glowed with colours and ebullient patterns created in response to the competing and collaborative voices, music and screams of people nearby.
