Dinh Q Le is a Vietnamese artist, educated in America, who spent a good portion of his career weaving together photos from the Vietnam war and from Hollywood’s portrayals of the Vietnam war to make large-scale, multi-layered pictuers. In his latest show at the Shoshana Wayne gallery in Santa Monica, CA, he explores how the Iraq war has overshadowed America’s nostalgia and awareness of the Vietnam war by weaving together photos of images from the 2 wars. If you’re in the LA area, try and see these incredible pieces in person; the show is open until the end of the week.
