Back in a time when anatomy was a fascinating and unveiling study, artists and anatomists often collaborated.
The above is “Anatomia per uso et inteligenza del disegno ricercata…” (translation: Anatomy for use and understanding of design research…) created by anatomist Bernardino Genga and artist Charles Errard as a copperplate engraving in Rome circa 1691.
Certain pieces from the Dream Anatomy collection are currently on display at the California Science Center courtesy of the National Library of Medicine.
Go and appreciate these feats of scientific curiosity. Your imagination will thank you.
