The world’s largest chain of hamburger fast food restaurants is looking to revamp their menus, store design, and ordering experience. With a juicy budget of $2.4 billion, in 2011 McDonalds is set to rebuild 400 ‘domestic outposts’, refurbish 1,600 existing restaurants and create an extra 1000 to boot.
While this sounds like an incredible feat, I wonder if it actually means that McDonalds will be changing the quality of their food, food sourcing and business practices or if they’re just using design to pull in people that wouldn’t usually wouldn’t be caught dead there. I’d like to think the former is the case, but feel as thought it will probably be the latter.
