I had the fortune to check out LACMA’s Tim Burton Retrospective last week with my mother while she was visiting. While I was already a huge Tim Burton fan I found that his early illustration work was so witty and intelligent that I gained a completely new perspective on his artistic genius.
By far, however, my favorite piece of his work displayed in the exhibit was this stop-motion short that he wrote and directed in 1982. It really goes to show how long he’s been crafting his unique style of animation and storytelling. There’s also something very special to the fact that it is narrated by Vincent Price.
